Further information for PE and Sport providers

PE and Sport has been identified as a key subject area within BSF and has a major role to play in facilitating the community and extended services aspects of the programme.

In both LEP and non-LEP situations, the lead construction companies will assemble a supply chain covering the range of products and services which the local authority has indicated it wishes to procure. Suppliers of PE and Sports equipment and services that wish to get involved in the BSF market should therefore ensure that they are known to the lead partners.

An important aspect of the PE and Sport element of the BSF programme is the opportunity to work with National Governing Bodies (NGB's) of sport. NGB involvement may result in additional funding and could, through association, raise the profile of PE and Sport suppliers.

Potential suppliers should also note that both the local authority and the schools engaged in BSF will have a say in the products, services and facilities selected. It is important, therefore, that suppliers and companies continue to market their products directly to PE and Sport stakeholder groups, who will contribute to their local authority's BSF project, and potentially raise awareness of favoured products.
