Project status

Wave 1: First school (Bristol Brunel Academy) opened September 2007
                Bristol Metropolitan College opened April 2008

Wave 4: Next stage Financial Close

Bristol were the first local authority to reach financial close on their BSF project, in June 2006.

On 6 September 2007, Speedwell (now called Bristol Brunel Academy) became the first school to open under the Building Schools for the Future programme. Bristol Metropolitan College (formerly Whitefield Fishponds) opened in April 2008.

Other Wave 1 schools currently under way are Brislington and Hartcliffe, which be completed by early 2009.

Bristol's Wave 4 projects were launched in January 2007.
