BSF school wins RIBA award

05 June 2008

The Bristol Brunel Academy has won a prestigious architectural award for its innovative design by architects Wilkinson Eyre. The school has been named as one of the 2008 RIBA Award winners for the Wessex area in the Royal Institute of British Architects annual awards in recognition of its high architectural standards and its contribution to the local environment.

The BSF school is one of 63 buildings across the UK to have won the 2008 RIBA Award. It will now go on to be considered for RIBA National Awards, which will be awarded at a ceremony on 27 June 2008.

Tim Byles, Chief Executive of Partnerships for Schools, said: “Good design and sustainable design is at the heart of BSF to ensure that the buildings constructed today play a significant role in their communities for decades to come.

“Bristol Brunel Academy students say they find their new school an inspirational place to learn, and I am delighted that its design has been recognised by RIBA in this way.”
