Press statement: PfS appoints new Director of Education and Planning
26 April 2006
Partnerships for Schools (PfS) today announced the appointment of Russell Andrews as Director of Education and Planning. Russell takes up post immediately and will drive forward the Educational planning and specification phase of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, taking local authorities through from inception to being ready to begin procurement.
Russell, who joined PfS as an education adviser in 2005, has more than 20 years’ experience in the education sector and has previously worked as Assistant Education Director for Nottingham City and as a teacher in Bradford.
Partnerships for Schools Chief Executive, Richard Bowker, said: “Russell’s considerable experience working within both schools and local authorities will build on the great start PfS has already made helping local authorities to develop dynamic visions for their schools.”
Today’s appointment completes the restructure launched earlier this year to ensure that PfS is fully equipped to move into the key delivery phase of the BSF (and more recently Academies) programmes.
