Handheld Learning 2008
The Handheld Learning Conference is the key international event for learning using mobile or ubiquitous technologies. The event is supported by Becta: Andrew Pinder, Chairman of Becta will be giving the opening address on Tuesday 14 October.
Now in its fourth year, the conference theme for 2008 is "Innovation in Learning and Teaching Practice". Speakers will examine the convergence between consumer electronics, entertainment software, educational technology and learning.
The event will stage an mix of inspirational presentations from leading thinkers and practitioners, interactive debates, learner and practitioner showcases, special interest breakouts, networking and social sessions, plus an exhibition featuring the principle industry leaders.
Partnerships for Schools is supporting the morning breakout session on Wednesday 15 October, entitled 'Inventing Future Schools'. Steve Moss, Strategic Director for ICT at PfS and his team will, using BSF as a template, discuss how new mobile and ubiquitous technologies may be used as key enablers for the creation of future schools.
